It’s our last day in Jerusalem and today’s theme is all about others. This morning we got an early start back up North to the Schneider Children’s Hospital. Here we spent time with children in the hospital and brought them balloons. Funny how such a small gesture can bring such intense happiness to a sick child. The great thing about this hospital is open to all children, regardless of background.
Second stop was to INTRA – the Israel National Therapeutic Riding Association. This is an organization that utilizes the riding of horses to help children and adults with multiple disabilities, including Autism and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We heard stories from two men struggling with PTSD as a result of war and how this therapeutic horseback riding has helped them to cope with their disorders.
Today’s events were more community service based and definitely the most fulfilling day of the trip. Tonight is our last night in Jerusalem and the group will be spending a leisure night in the city.
